Oscars 2011

I got to enjoy watching the Oscar's red carpet with my dear friend, Kristen Brown of Happy Hour Effect at the SLS hotel in Beverly Hills.  We taped a piece for her radio show on the likes and dislikes of the night. 

I must say the arm candy on a few of the "actors" were on my top favorites. 

Rhea Durham in Naeem Khan - this was my favorite dress of the evening

Camila Alves in Kaufman Franco - she looked amazing

Sunshine Ruffalo in Gaultier Paris - I loved this look, my roommate not so much,
but I thought she looked stunning

Michelle Williams in Chanel Haute Couture - she was the whole package
dress, hair and make-up were all beautiful

 Amy Adams in L' Wren Scott - she looked amazing in this color and
the dress looked perfect on her

Celine Dion in Armani Prive - Fabulous, she looked fabulous

Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang - I didn't love her make-up but I did love her dress


NOT MY FAVS:

Marisa Tomei in Vintage Charles James for Lily et Cie Couture
it didn't fit her and I strongly disliked the top of the dress

Reese Witherspoon in Armani Prive - I usually love her but I felt like her hair
was too fake and this dress reminds me of a prom dress from 1994 

Nicole Kidman in Dior Haute Couture  - I will say I love the pop of color
on the shoes but the dress was too over the top 

Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gabbana -  Her make-up was pretty but

her hair and dress were ... were ... were ... I just didn't like it

gaga for gucci

OMG I have died and gone to my new favorite designer heaven.  Frida Giannini for Gucci has seriously made me fall in love with the Spring 2011 and now the Fall 2011 collections.  Seriously!!!!  When I have a bad day all I have to do is look at these two collections and away my stress goes.  I have now added Frida Giannini to my "wish to meet" list.  Take a look at her last two collections.  I know you will fall in love as much as I have.  Happy Friday!

something borrowed

While in Vegas last week for WWDMAGIC with Picky Girl's Elizabeth we decided to mix and match our wardrobes. I remember being with her last August when she ordered this adorable soft white shirt from GLAM. I am not exactly sure how I didn't end up buying this amazing piece but at least I was able to wear it for a day.

blue for february?

When I think of February I picture the color red.  However, this past month I have been seeing a ton of rich bright blues.  Not navy but more of a royal blue.  I hate to say it but I don't think I have this color in my closet. I am sure I will be changing that quite soon.  I know that February is almost over but I have a feeling this color will carry into Spring quite nicely.

picky girl - shop local

It's always fun to see friends and this past weekend/week I was able to spend time with my dear friend Elizabeth from Picky Girl Boutique in St. Paul, MN.  (I may have mentioned this store once or twice in previous posts).  We were on a buying trip for her store (late Summer/Fall 2011 ... everything is amazing).

One of my favorite things to do is swap clothes with friends. When we got to our room we hung up all our clothes and believe me we both over packed.  I was loving her white blazer and decided to borrow it for the day.  It was perfect considering it is always freezing in the hotels/casinos in Vegas.

Thanks Elizabeth for a fun weekend/week and I am very excited about all your Spring clothes coming into the store right now (since I also helped buy for the Spring 2011 season).  For all you Minnesota peeps if you haven't been to Picky Girl in awhile get your butts over there.  She has a bunch of great pieces coming in for Spring.

So it was finally time to debut my mohawk heels and what better place than in Vegas.  I decided to also stick with my jumper/jumpsuit obsession and wear the heels with a little black number.  Ohh how I love Vegas.

I must say that the quality of my photos aren't the best.  I think I need a new camera. Any suggestions?

sunny enough for sundresses

All I am reading about these days are sundresses which only makes me more excited for warmer weather (good thing I live in Southern California). I decided to pull out one of my favorite sundresses from last summer.  I am thinking this might be a perfect number for Coachella in April!?!  Or Vegas this weekend!?!  Untz untz untz!
