If you are anything like me you are obsessed with magazines. I think I now get Harper's Bazaar, InStyle, People StyleWatch, WORN, W, and Vogue. Of course I pick up Allure, Vanity Fair, Glamour, People, and US Weekly every time I am at the airport. My problem is I hate throwing magazines away. Especially, my fashion magazines. So I decided instead of piling them up on the coffee table (which I am sure bothers my boyfriend) I am going to display them in cute vintage boxes/baskets. I recently picked up this old delivery milk box from a cute vintage interior shop in Seattle called Altstadt Interiors and the basket is an old swimming pool basket from a great shop in Minneapolis called
Hunt & Gather. Let me know if you have seen any other cute ideas for ways to display or organize magazines. Read away!

This basket is very nostalgic since it reminds me of the
swimming baskets at the old Wadena City Swimming pool
where I spent my summer afternoons as a child.
It was destroyed last summer in a Tornado. |

What a great idea! Like you, I feel guilty throwing them away and I also like to go back years later and look through old mags. (I recently found old copies of Seventeen magazine from the 80's!)

ReplyDeleteMy mom actually made a magazine rack from a ladder just like the one pictured and she gets compliments about it constantly. I'm such a fan of magazines. I have a ton and I keep them on bookshelves.
