something old turned into something new

Clip on earrings and vintage earrings are one in the same. That is just how they did it back in the day. I realized that I was missing out on some amazing earrings simply because they were clip ons. Instead of my standard sleep in Saturdays, I not only got up early but I was productive. I bought a jewelry making kit the other day and I managed to fix a necklace AND make clip on earrings into earrings with posts so I could wear them with my pierced ears. Take a look.

I somehow wake up every morning 20 minutes late and have to run around like a chicken with my head cut off in order to get ready and bust out the door. I look at my closet, my make shift closet, my dresser and my bookcase turned into a dresser only to say to myself "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR." Lately I have been using one piece and building around that.  Today it was one of my new vintage necklaces that I picked up this weekend. ME LIKEY!!!!!

I headed back to Minnesota for a cousin's wedding and since I had some downtime my Mom and I decided to check out an antique mall. You never know what to expect when you walk into antique malls BUT within 30 seconds I had already found 2 pieces and when I turned around I thought I had died and gone to jewelry heaven. It was an awesome 2 hour event that left me with a lighter wallet but a grin the size of Texas. June (the owner) had the best selection I had ever seen and I can't wait until Thanksgiving weekend to see her again.

Every time I see an outfit with lace on it I think of my roommate. She has gotten me hooked on this trend. I not only see it everywhere but I have yet to find the perfect lace top or dress. Below is a great example.

hat or no hat

It's Fall (yes even in Southern California) and my favorite things about Fall are boots, sweaters and HATS. I find myself buying hats but never actually wearing them.  I was shopping yesterday with my roommate and we popped into Banana Republic and I was drawn towards this hat.  She said get it but I ended up talking myself out of it.  Soooooo what do you think?

I was either having a bad day or I was bored and needed to do some retail therapy, so I decided to pop into H&M. Lately, I am drawn to the taupes, nudes and champagne colors. I knew without even trying this shirt on that I was going to buy it. I LOVE IT and can not get enough of it.

I love magazines and the September issue of fashion magazines are pretty much Bibles for Fall Fashion. I decided to get all the key magazines and check out the ... the ... omg the ten thousand ADS. As I was looking through the pages of Vogue, InStyle, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, PeopleStyle Watch and Lucky I couldn't help but find a few ads that I loved and ones that all I could say was "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?"
