I have been in love with Alberta Feretti ever since I found a pair of shoes at Loehmann's in Miami years ago.  It actually took me 6 years to wear them. I have no idea why but I guess I never wanted to ruin them. Needless to say, thanks to that purchase I found a designer that never lets me down. For example the dresses above from her Fall 2010 Collection are stunning. 

red velvet

What's better than red velvet cakes/cupcakes? If you have an answer than you haven't had Susiecakes, Sprinkles, or Crumbs. I just discovered a place that has delicious red velvet cake. Wait for it ... wait for it ... Costco.  I know WHAT WHAT??? Actually how many of you are really surprised? We decided this weekend to get it for the birthday party.  We even ripped off the label so no one would know (especially not our neighbors) but much to our surprise it was excellent. So good in fact that I am proud to tell everyone where it came from.  That's right COSTCO!!!!!!!! Enjoy a huge red velvet cake for $9.99.  BEST DEAL EVER.

It's Tuesday. Work is slow. I feel bad but all I can do is look at my cute new clogs that I got thanks to my Dad. I love them. They are the black ones below. As I was online shopping I came across these other clogs that I am starting to think I must have as well. Can someone please tell me again why I wasn't born an Heiress? I mean last weekend I bought four lottery tickets and nothing. UGGG! Oh well I will have to try again this week.

target

Many of my friends know that I was obsessed with the Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges this past April. OBSESSED. I called everyone I knew in different states, I even had my Dad looking in Minot, North Dakota. My good friend Christine's mom found them for me in Wisconsin. THANK YOU AGAIN! I love them.

I just learned another brand I enjoy, Dolce Vita is going to be releasing a line of shoes/boots for Target. They are to be released on August 22nd. However, the last time Target said they were releasing a designer line they lied and had it available before the actual date. So we'll see??? I am not sure what I think about this collection. Jury is still out.

stoked mentoring photo shoot

This past weekend I was asked if I would help style a photo shoot for an organization called Stoked. Stoked's mission is to develop successful teens with opportunity, knowledge, experience, and determination through action sports and mentoring.

It was a wonderful day and all the mentees were so great. The organization is amazing and my sister has been a mentor for four years. Check out their website above. They are always taking donation and volunteers/mentors (if you are in the LA or NYC areas).

So when I post pics of the three pairs of shoes I bought yesterday I hope you are excited as I was when they were delivered to my desk. My friend Beth and I were waiting like kids on Christmas morning for our purchases to arrive. I will post pics soon.

I worked really hard this morning so I could blog this afternoon. By blog I mean working on my blog, reading other blogs and going to my favorite fashion websites. I was on newyorkmag.com when I came across the 2010 Fall Valentino Couture collection. Here are a few of my favorite pieces.

brazilian blowout

Thanks to my friend Megan Wageman at Urban Escape on Abbot Kinney in Venice, CA, I know have semi-straight hair. For how long? 3 months. I LOVE IT. I had never heard of this amazing procedure before but I am now a huge fan. IT'S AMAZING and if you live in the LA area you must have it done by Megan herself. Apparently it's all the rage in LA.

I feel like a new person with straight hair. I am so used to getting out of the shower and trying to comb through the snarls of curls (don't get me wrong I love my curls) but for once I am able to have different hair, even if only for 3 months (or until I get the procedure done again). I am now a huge advocate for this so if you have any questions let me know and I am sure I can talk you into getting a BRAZILIAN ... blowout.

good finds

Who doesn't love a bargain? Or simply a good find? Of course we all do. As I was back home in Minnesota for the 4th of July I decided to go to my favorite trading post called Morell's Chippewa Trading Post in Bemidji. It's this tiny shop that has been around forever it seems. I would go there as a child and pick out a pair of Minnetonka moccasins or a little Native American doll. To my surprise nothing has changed in 30 years. So I bought my goddaughters little trinkets and BAM I saw these bracelets and had to buy them(at $5.50 a piece why not). I have been wearing them pretty much every other day for the past couple weeks and not only do I love them but it seems other people do as well.

OK I will admit I do love LC or Lauren Conrad. Her style is a very California AWESOME. I am always excited to see what she is going to be wearing. In true LC fashion she didn't let me down in this number by Mandalay. This also brings up a conversation I had with my roommate last night about Aldo shoes. They are having a kick ass sale right now and it just so happens our girl LC is wearing Aldo shoes. Enjoy the sale!

amazing lipstick

OK thanks to my mother I buy a lot of lipstick. However, I actually never wear it ... until now. This is one of my favorite ad campaigns and who doesn't wanted to look just like Vanessa Paradis. Since I can't have Johnny Depp I decided the next best thing was her lipstick. IT's AMAZING. I can't get enough of it. The exact color is Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle #5.

i finally found a pair of leather shorts

So I have been looking for leather shorts for about 6 months now and I have finally found a pair that are not only cheap but look cool. I am so excited to go to Urban Outfitters and try these on. Wish me luck that they look as cool on me as they do on the model. Untz Untz.
