weekend reunion ... cancelled

So after trying to decide what to pack for my all school reunion an unfortunate event happened. A TORNADO hit my hometown. It was horrible and the SW side of town was destroyed. I have attached a touching video of the devastation.

all-school reunion

Like any reunion you want to look your best for all the people you haven't seen in years. This reunion is not like any reunion it is an all-school reunion. I didn't really think it was that uncommon but apparently I am told it is. Another reason growing up in a small town is amazing.

But of course comes the question ... WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR? I don't want to look over the top which yes if I could I would wear the black sequin Halston number from a previous post, I would. So I find myself in kind of a pickle. I don't want to just blend in because well that's not me but I also don't want to stick out and have people talking. Ahhh hell I should just give them something to talk about.

Anytime I think of reunions it brings me back to the movie Romi and Michelle. It really is a classic no brainer movie. I wonder if people would believe me if I said I invented post-its. I mean I am from Minnesota and 3M is also from Minnesota???

I will post pictures from the weekend but until that happens I would like you to enjoy this oldie but goodie that I was recently tagged in on Facebook by a friend from way back when.

suede peep toe booties

I have a picture of a certain pair of suede (tan/nude/taupe) colored peep toe booties in my head and yet I can't find them. I have seen them in the magazines and even tore a picture of them out but for the life of me I can not remember who the designer is. I will find them but in the mean time here are a couple examples that are less than $100. The one's on the left are Steve Madden and the ones on the right are VinceVCamuto.

hello halston

Shopping with friends. These are a few of my favorite things. (insert Sound of Music soundtrack). What happens when you have no money to spend on frivolous things yet you find the most extraordinary piece of clothing??? Well my friends you find a way to justify it and you buy it. This is exactly what I did.

For more fun items go to Satine Boutique.

shopping with friends

So I have a friend coming into town for a shopping weekend. I was thinking what should I wear on Saturday for our afternoon out in LA. Who doesn't love jean shorts with wedges? I am loving this look for summer.

cargo's for summer

I have decided to attach my new favorite pants. These are from Anthropologie. They are the Level 99 World Over Cargo's. AMAZING. They are comfortable and decently priced. You will have to go down at least two pant sizes because they run really big but they are a summer must have.

from the very beginning

Soooo I have decided to start bloggin. Yep that's right here I go. I have been reading a lot of fashion blogs lately and well I guess I just need to start my own. Don't get me wrong I am not saying there aren't good ones out there. There are amazing one's that I check everyday. I am hoping eventually my blog will be a little bit different and I am hoping that while I do this I will find a niche that will keep people entertained. So let me start off by saying I am IN LOVE with clothes, shoes, jewelry, purses, hats, belts, did I say shoes? I have been obsessed since I was young. I loved walking around in my mom's old dresses and her shoes. Eventually I would just go to garage sales and buy my own heels. They never fit but I didn't care. I loved the sound that heels made on the pavement. I would change my play purses everyday and yes I even used expired credit cards and my mom's old lipstick to fill the purses up. As for her old gowns ... duck tape makes for a great tailor. I didn't care as much about TV shows but I did care about what they were wearing. Dallas and Falcon Crest were full of amazing pieces. Even my Barbies had amazing clothes. I recently discovered that my favorite Barbie dress was actually an Oscar de la Renta Barbie gown. WHAT?!?!
